I sat down and wrote a poem today. Boy, it's been awhile. I was commissioned by my rollerderby to write a thank you poem to our volunteers.

I was blocked. I mean BLOCKED until I put Bethoven in the hifi. Then it went okay, slowly, but okay. I write so very slowly. It's fairly readable when I put my mind to it, but wow, slow.

Maybe I should do the same. I haven't written a poem in forever either.

I just realized today while doing yard work that Cobra Commander and most of his outfit originally whore NYPD Blue. I was looking at the sky trying to classify what shade of blue it was and I came to the aforementioned conclusion. I wonder if that was something done on purpose, certainly villifying the police isn't new. But to do it so subtly in an...

I like SG very much but sometimes I feel really fricken old around here. Maybe not old but alienated.

This white, hetero, with no ink, no piercings, and no drug habit man in his 30's really just does not fit in. I'm cool with whatever, I don't judge, but there are levels.

There is a level of ink, past "my body is a canvas" past...

Migraine tonight. Sis had to come and get me, I'm just sure I'm gonna get ticketed where I'm parked.

Watched "Amelie" last night, not bad. Very charming. Great contrast to "The Passion of The Christ" which I also watched. I do credit Mel Gibson with that movie. It is very well made. The pieta scene and the scenes depicting the reprecussions of Jesus' death are masterful.

Satan as a woman (in the "Passion"), so elegant on many levels. I dunno if it's the best...

Cue the theme to Donnie Darko and let the spirits pour.
avalon:
i fucking love donnie darko. one of my favorites of all time.

as for the debate- i'm really at odds. obviously i'm partial to biden as a democratic supporter. palin has a wonderfully deceptive way of squirming around the issue at hand and manipulating into something irrelevent. if she perhaps was a bit more straightforward it would be enlightening. i still think she is an idiot. i thought tho- to her credit- that she was a a bit more on her game this time. [probably after being criticized so heavily] in every ignorant, brainwashed rednecks mind- im sure they would say she won. but i disagree. biden's emotional recollection of his wife and childs' death almost had me [and him] choked up. that alone made him the winner in my eye. being real always trumps being a sugar coating bullshitter.

I think I did well at my interview today. I have a good feeling about it.

Listening to Anne Rice's first novel about a young Jesus, the book was checked out, I'll let you know. I would prefer to read it, naturally, but it is nice to have something to listen to while I drive around.

Was it just me, or was "In Bruges" marketed...
