I saw my first turning tree today, this morning actually. I think it was a big oak and the lower parts were a winey red. Around a tenth of it's big green leafy mass had turned already.

I did survive my double shift as I was telling a very lovely gal earlier, but I can barely walk. I'm pre-blister on several large places on my left foot. I ended up being on my feet about 15 hours. How the hell I'm gonna work tonight is a mystery to me, I barely limped to the can in time a few minutes ago.

yes you do. i'm sorry it's so tough. be strong.
Inglorius Basterds stunk. I was bored to tears. I love Tarantino, but my. The usual wit, character and atmosphere that carry you through the trademark long dialogs (i.e. Travolta's Amsterdam speech, the watch story, the Carradine/Thurman conversation outside the church) just missed completely. No kinetic energy to this film, none. The only real atmosphere was in the Cinema/Theatre at the end. I quit caring about...

I was afraid of that. I didn't even put it on my DVD queue. I'm beginning to wonder if anyone can make a good film anymore lately.
A double. I remember those. I hope that you and your feet come out of it all okay.

Ooooh, my man will be especially upset if this tarantino thing you state turns out to be true, even more so than I will be. Hes been all dyin to see it and all. But ya gotta figure ... not *every* film can be a hit, theres always a few misses in the bunch.
Last time I had to work a 16 hr shift on my feel because my relief didnt come in I think I cried in my office, lol.

It's gonna be in the 40's here tonight! ROCK ON! Cry havoc! and let slip the flannel of fall!
Viva la plaid!
I'm officially floating my resume for fall/winter '09 cuddlemonkey. 6'4'', Super furry(back negotiable), I radiate at about 102 degrees, excellant oral hygene, you'll get used to the snoring. It's totally endearing.
I played hookey from work today and cleaned house. Vacuumed, even the...

We hadn't discussed it and I haven't seen it so I've added Sunday Bloody Sunday to my queue. Much French cinema here lately. La Bete Humaine and La Petite Lili were two standouts.
40's - whoa! We're looking at 50's here. I haven't had nearly enough summer but I'm ready for the fall.
Good luck with the resume!

I see. Well, at least it was a good time.

Wow - great photos! Thanks for the bridge
We have one about three miles from here just over the border in Connecticut - I'll post a photo of it for you soon. You live in a beautiful area.
I know I promised you a pic of the "turtle crossing" sign a while back. I go by that property at least once a week or so. When I drove over to take a photo, it was gone. It's been several months now and it hasn't been replaced.

I rise like a phoenix from the ashes of colon castrophy.
And I can spell phoenix because hooked on phoenix worked for me. That and $40k worth of higher education. I can ask if you "want fries with that" in Latin AND Sanskrit.
Not kidding, just give me some wet clay and a pointy stick.

Thank you
All the health craziness of the other night was the opening salvo in what appears to be a major case of stomach flu, which to add NASCAR insult to colonic injury, I think I caught at Wal-Mart. According to the pharmacist it's going around like the local ho.
Thermodynamically it's interesting. My head, core and eye sockets are radiating uncomfortable heat while my fingers and...

I tried for years to stay away from Wal-Mart. I've given up - the one around here is actually much better than average and, unlike just about everyplace else, I always come home with whatever I was looking for.
It sounds like you picked up something more than you bargained for! I'm glad that you figured out what was the cause of the bad episode the other night but so sorry that it had to be this.
Take care of yourself. Get some rest. Watch Pucca. Feel better soon...

The last thing I remember is calling in sick.
I had some fairly upsetting insulin issues last night, my head was really swimmy and dizzy and I thought I had laid down after I called in, but when I woke up today I was wearing three pairs of socks, the shower faucet had run all night, my computer was on Nicktoons, and odd random lights...

I'm glad that it all turned out as well as it did.
I hope those levels are back (and stay) under control.
I moved the Pucca disk back up a ways on my Netflix queue. There's a ton of videos on YouTube - enough to keep me busy for a while.
Take care...

I actually haven't seen that before.
Ended up not taking any FiveAlive, I took Nyquil, Dayquil, and Emergen-C. I don't know...I think the Emergen-C did the trick.

koreilyn:
Generic cheerios?!?

koreilyn:

You've been right about everything else - I put one of the DVDs at the top of my Netflix queue.
That raccoon must have looked absolutely amazing. We had a huge reverse color skunk here last year. That was kind of freaky looking.

Is completely heartened by the recent uptick in, and in full support of, more ladies of Asian descent on SG. I could never figure out why there weren't more in the first place.

I recently watched Masashi Yamamoto's Man, Woman and the Wall.

And laughing at yourself is a quality that I hope most people have. Never take yourself too seriously.
The same leaf thing has suddenly happened here. A couple 40 degree nights and there are all sorts of yellow and red hues. Pretty, but I'm not looking forward to winter.
