Woke up on the way, way wrong side of the bed this morning. It's gonna take a loads rainbows and lollipops to keep me from messing up somebody's program today.
I think my Leonid watching is gonna get rained out.

I love Angel-A! The only thing that I don't understand about it is why so many people don't. I think that it's one of Besson's very best. A brilliant and beautiful film.
I just woke up from my nap. It's beginning to get a bit hazy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

It got very misty here and a haze rolled in from the south a around 4:30, but until then - fantastic.
I don't believe that I've ever seen Fort Apache, The Bronx. It's on the queue! I love New York. I go there all the time. But yes, much of it was a hellhole back in the 70's. It pains me to say it, and many New Yorkers would disagree, but I have photos...
My best friend was born in Brooklyn. He and his wife and I were having this same discussion with his kids just the other day.

Ashamed to admit that I had to look up who she is. Generally I enjoy a good slo-mo celebrity trainwreck, so I have no idea how I missed this one.
And, yes, the hubble wallpapers are amazing.

Baryonic Matter. That is just too cool. I had no idea that they were posting this stuff. So, thank you for that.
I'll have to go pick up some Forever Knight. Now that I've been reminded of it, I don't think I can prevent myself from at least seeing a little of it. Most likely, a little will turn into a lot fairly quickly.
Whedon certainly has to realize by now that Dushku has very limited range, right? I mean, the show was designed to showcase her acting ability and all it demonstrated was her inability to be believable as anything other than a sexy tomboy (which she does with aplomb). Easy to look at, but hard to watch.
Sadly, it appears Morena is tied up in the V reboot. I'd've liked to have seen what she could do with Wonder Woman, but alas.
My hope is that Joss forgoes episodic t.v. and either devotes his time to film or miniseries. He hasn't had success at either, but at least it would limit the dangling plot threads.

There was a time--we're gonna say around winter 1994--where I'd watch Forever Knight every single Saturday afternoon. I'd eat chicken noodle soup and watch that and Highlander: the series back-to-back. For some reason, my memory has it raining every time I sat down to watch. Good times, good times.
Never was there a supporting character that I loved more than LaCroix. Just a perfect marriage of character and actor. When he waxed poetic about celebrating "Death days" in heaven...man.
So, you have my envy.

Yeesh. Growing my hair out from Marine length to Mad Men length. Now I have to use product, what a drag. I swear my next stop is the Randy Couture. Still, my head is warmer.
Working as much as I can to finance Christmas, still the list of things I need is getting long. Not things I want or could have fun with, but things...

I used to love MTV. Sometime in the 90's it all went down the tubes. So did a lot of other things - and everything is getting so very expensive.
Great.
I'm starting to sound like my late grandfather
Take care...

Yay for Pat Barry!
Shame on Florida and Brandon Spikes for being everything that's wrong with America. Evidently Florida thinks a college age boy's eyes are worth 1/2 of 1 football game. Come to Florida where you can gouge your opponents eyes and your coaches and administration will back you to the hilt because, of course, winning = $.
It's sickening.

If it keeps raining my entire state is just gonna slide off into the Ohio.
Finally a date with The Gal! So no grease, salt, or garlic this week. I've begun to die inside. She better at least kiss me. We're gonna go see "Paranormal Activity" and dinner. Wish me luck. I'm trying to pick a James Bond to channel. The Connery seems the easy...

I rescued a turtle from the road this morning on my way home. So, if for no other reason, my life had a purpose today. I stacked the deck against fate with a minute of my time, an ounce of giving a shit, and a foggy realization of where I sit on the sacred hoop.
Take that, gloom and doom. I kick thee in the...

I've been coming across and saving snakes lately. They slither out into the road or the trail to get warm and instead get the heat sucked right out of them. I came across a huge ratler by the side of a rail trail the other day. I figured that he was fine where he was...
Our names will be forever revered when reptiles take over the Earth!
I checked my old notes - the meteor shower that I heard was actually the Geminids. I'm hoping to at least be able to see them this year.

I am so supremely frikken bored! I almost wish I was working.

I'm glad you got to enjoy the Orionid shower! It was cloudy here. I can't remember the last time we had a clear night for meteors. The last time I saw the Orionids was back in the 90's. It was really great though - the conditions were perfect and the grass and leaves were picking up their e/m transmissions so that when I lay on the ground I could actually hear them! I kid you not. There was an article in Natural History magazine about the phenomena a few years ago. I'll try to find it online.
It could be worse... you could be working a double.
Take care...

I hope everyone got out and enjoyed the Orionids (the meteor shower) I sure did, but I always enjoy meteor showers. This shower was great, it wasn't super cold, no bugs, no moon. This one meteor went right over the farm and left a streak a quarter of the way across the sky, then the tail hung up there and fizzled for at least two...
