I'm not a big sports guy but this is good stuff.

When I watch those I have ask myself " What the hell did you do on your two good legs today?"

Now the part that pisses me off.

The fit, whole people Olympics told this guy he had an unfair ADVANTAGE and refused to let him compete (WTF?). Because of a huge...

It snowed tonight in a different way.

The snow didn't fall, it was too dry I guess, it just wafted along in the air. It snowed for hours and there was none on the ground. You couldn't really even see it until it shimmered in a streetlight. Like little diamond flecks. It was profoundly beautiful and profoundly friggin cold, 6F.

Bitterly cold here and I work outside. 11F last night, forecast 7F tonight, 2F tomarrow. It's taking a lot out of me, Luvamoose and I slept all day in a big Mastiff/blanket/thermal PJ ball.

I hope everyone enjoyed the blue moon. How cool was that?

Last year my resolution was to explore Asian Cuisine, and I did with much help. This shall be the year...

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

I hope you had a very happy one!

Furnace still down, and as much as I fight it, my spirits are beginning to sink with it. Hard to be in the spirit of the season when your home feels like a meat locker. Still, I count myself as lucky to have my meat locker. The cold doesn't seem to be bothering Luvamoose, she does seem to be drinking more however. Maybe the cold...

I hope that today brings you much more warmth and light.

Our nearest White Castle is over 60 miles away in a place I never go - one of the high points of driving into NYC with my friends is stopping at the Castle on the way home at 1:00 am. There's always room!

All the kids I know are finally grown. Children are the very best part of Christmas. I miss that.
All the best...

I worked 14 hours, came home, ate some White Castles and discovered my furnace boost pump hadiezed. Like water on the floor siezed. Of course it's Sunday, and I am way too tired to deal with repair people or any number family members who have oftered advice.
grayb:
Well, at least you had White Castle! Do you have one near you or do you get the frozen ones at the store? Great. Now I'm gonna have to dig myself out and go get sometongue

Good luck with the furnace. This is definitely not either the day or the time of year you want to be having to deal with that. Take care...

How do you tell a pro SG/Model from a rookie? The pros take the tags out of their underwear before they shoot.

grayb:
I'll have to pay closer attention...

I hope you were able to enjoy some of the Geminid shower. We unexpectedly lucked out here. No aural accompaniment this year though.

Disco-era dance, huh? Have fun!

Anybody know where to go in Chicago for Disco-era clothes? For a brawny-sized man? I have a dance coming up and the local thrifts are getting me nowhere.

Taking the War Wagon in on Wednesday, cross your fingers that the transmission isn't a total loss and the bill won't cramp my gift giving.

Okay, the weather here is officially a cruel joke. Several days of freeze-dried mid-teens, followed by pouring rain and 33. This morning a soul crushing freezing mist.

It looks like I will miss the entire meteor shower.
grayb:
I caught just a couple of off-peak meteors the other night. Single digits and hazy here last night. Bummer.

We're in a deep freeze here as well. I'm hoping tonight is clear - the Geminids are generally worthwhile viewing for a night or two before and after the peak.

Here's the link to the Natural History article about sound producing meteors. I already sent it to ferkixllL, the other person I know who would be interested.

Good luck...
