I did this today. My attempt at a newspaper print background failed. I tried liquor, I tried caulk... Some things worked out, but not how I had specifically wanted them. Sooo, I had to sand everything down and start again. Maybe I'll do a map in the background. I dunno. I hate to cover up the wood. We'll see what happens.

That's Cool. Any thoughts on what kind of map? I think a old style 17-1800's style map would look really cool, You could even do the crazy sea creatures in the ocean to add another focal piece. Very cool.

That's more of what I was aiming for. I think it would look better on the wood (and definitely sea creatures)!
