Actually a nice perspective on that particular issue.
I liked how the writer utilized the term "absolutist", because the more I thought of it, that is what a lot of people are. And I'm not just talking on the left, but the far right too. They're out there, almost as if they had blinders on, running down the same path.

Dude good luck. The job market is fucked right now for film/video. MN film board lost it's funding as well. What do you want to do, edit, PA, camera, my advice, get a cozy gig in a post house or ad agency, if you wanna work on movies you'll have to save up and move to LA or NY, but learning the backside (post) is very important and helpful.
