Ok is anyone else's front page frozen....it stopped showing updates for almost 2 days. It is just my profile?

Last thing it says is adrian updated his profile which he did 2 days ago.

So last night I watched "Letters From Iwo Jima" I watched "Flags of Our Fathers" when it came out and immediately bought the DVD when I could. I think Eastwood is a directing genius and redefined what a war movie should be.

All the old movies are black and white. Good vs bad. Little character depth. We were good and the other people were crazy and bad. Japanese were depicted as nuts and crazy in most WW2 movies, but when you watch BOTH these movies together you get both sides of the war and a more human reality fo what war is; both sides being taught that the other side is the savages, while we are both fighting for the same thing. A better life. Plus Flags of our fathers focus more on the picture take of the soldiers raising the American flag and the story of the soldier who did it and the propaganda behind that picture too. Its really interesting.

I highly recommend you rent flags of our father and then letters of Iwo Jima and watch them. The music is amazing, the acting is brilliant, the directing flawless.
