OOO Bah Mah. In farsi that means "him with us" and as an Iranian American Obama is with me too.

I voted today and I couldn't be more proud to have voted for Barak Obama.

If anyone knows me I am all sports and POLITICS. I went to school and graduated with my degree in Poli Sci because I loved going to class and reading about politics even though I waned to work in a different field (production, MOVIES!)

I voted no on 8. (Unfair and WRONG)
I voted yes on 2 (Animals have feelings too and need a voice)

Last election I went door to door. I called people. I volunteered when John Edwards came to campus and handed out water. I worked my ass off. I thought Bush was a crock in 2000 and his first 4 years were a joke, so it was time for a change. I got dressed up on election night and went to the democratic party's election night party at the Vet. Club.

Needless to say I was upset with everyone else. The next morning I called my parents in Saudi Arabia and talked to them and vented. I don't cry that often but I was talking to my mom and the tv was on and it said only 18 percent of americans aged 18-35 voted. When i saw that it hit a nerve and i just lost it. I was crying so hard I couldn't even talk. I just remember my mom trying to tell me it would be ok but it was that moment that I lost all hope in the US and in people in the US. Especially people my age. The youth.

My hope in America was restored by Obama. I have never heard so much political talk from youger people like I have for this election. I have hope because Obama not only is wise but he inspires people to be involved. One of my favorite qoutes of all time is a qoute by John F Kennedy. "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country" JFK was great and Obama will be great like him too. I have no doubt about that.

So if you haven't voted.....go out and VOTE. Its so simple and even if it take a few hours of your day, be glad you can do it.
