I pre-ordered Mac OS X 10.5 from Amazon (through a referral link from Daring Fireball), but Amazon's super free saver shipping whatever pushed my ship date to almost two weeks after the release date. So I cancelled my order Thursday night and ordered from the Apple online store. The educational price difference was only a few bucks more, and would ship out for free the very next day, and would arrive sometime early next week.

I checked the status just a moment ago:



Shit, yes, free 2-day shipping upgrade. I think I can manage to wait one extra day... though I will be busy Halloween partying it up... somewhere... so that will significantly cut my play time short.

Next big purchase: massive external hard drive for Time Machine! I should check prices... I have a 250 GB external that I've been using for backups, but I feel like I need more than that. Plus I have well over a hundred gigs backed up already that I cannot lose.

We shall see.

I love Wawa coffee. 20 oz equals 4-6 extra hours of consciousness. And lots of getting my ass beat in Mario Strikers by the computer.

Update, 10:15 am: It's been delivered and signed for, but there's no package slip on my mailbox. Also it's in Ember's [real] name, and she was still sleeping when I went downstairs to check. Man, she is so adorable when she sleeps. If she wasn't so ridiculously cute I would be disappointed that I can't have Leopard in my "paws" yet. Hurr hurr. Worst. Pun. Ever.
