Dammit, late again. After getting ready for work I realized I had about ten minutes to spare, so I sat around and talked with Mark. When I got into my car I realized I might have to push it to the limit. I was on track to make a photo finish (I guess someone would photograph my foot stepping into the train just as the train doors start to close). And then I got to the garage. There was a line of cars down to the corner (Uhh, I'd Google map it but I'm too lazy). Sometimes there are a few cars in line, and it slows me down by about a minute, tops. But this had to be at least ten cars. Plus they all had the right of way to make a right into the garage; I had to make a left. So of course no one wanted to let me in.
Finally parked the car, ran down the steps and saw that the train hadn't arrived yet. There was still a chance. I crossed the street, went inside, walked under the tracks, and I noticed people coming down the stairs (the tracks are above the street). Not a good sign, that means people are leaving the train. As I cleared the last few steps the chime, uh, chimed. The doors closed and I was not on it.
Thirty seconds, hell, ten seconds would have been plenty of time. Ten seconds would have let me get to work over half an hour sooner.
Ugh. Anyway. Back to work on the Battle of the Bands intro. This thing will either be kind of cool, or super lame. I'm betting on the latter. A couple other people are working on it as well (we're all coming up with storyboards to show the client and I guess they'll pick whichever one they like the best).
And last night I acted out of character. I hope that never happens again.
