Every time I have to Windows Search at work I want to kill myself. It's faster for me to search folders manually, even when telling Windows to only search the main project folder. It's terrible. This reminds me of the revealed Microsoft emails, from important people at Microsoft talking Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger:
Lenn Pryor, former Director of Platform Evangelism:
Tonight I got on corpnet, hooked up Mail.app to my Exchange server and then downloaded all of my mail into the local file store. I did system wide queries against docs, contacts, apps, photos, music, and ... my Microsoft email on a Mac. It was fucking amazing. It is like I just got a free pass to Longhorn land today.
And Jim Allchin, co-president of the company's Platform Products and Services Group:
I don't believe we will have search this fast.
And you certainly don't have it now on XP.
Since I have a mirror of all the project files and folder structure on my MBP, when I'm at work working on the stupid PCs, it's faster for me to switch to my MBP and use Spotlight. This post brought to you by "Who does this phone number belong to?" Two seconds later, "Oh, those student loan bastards. Fuck 'em."
Well, time to get back at this Battle of the Bands logo...
Credit to Hawk Wings for the MS email stuff...
Other news: Interesting developments yesterday. And I'm very tired from waking up much earlier this morning. Possibly seeing 300 tonight with Chris, Todd, Ben, and others. Nice.
