Man, even after I set up the router here, I can still rarely access my fucking blog. So, I'm gonna have to continue posting here in the meantime... or cross-posting if that works.

Anyway. DAY OFF TODAY. Sweet, Jesus, yes.

While talking to the art director and senior producer/graphics supervisor (I finally found out her official job title; thank god for professional email signatures), and they determined that there wasn't gonna be enough things for me to do today so I might as well stay home.

However the best part of yesterday was finding out that even though I have to keep track of the hours I spent on projects, I still get my daily rate regardless if I only work for a few hours. They need to know the specific hours because they bill the client, similar to how I bill them every week.

I have tons of things I could be doing today: Grocery shopping (I feel bad eating the food here because I don't know how owns what), calling NJ Transit to try and get a refund or replacement monthly pass (oh, I didn't mention that earlier... **), playing lots of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and finishing the Ashes website.

Sadly, I will only be doing one. Finishing the website. If I could actually finish it today, it would be a miracle. I keep running into weird issues with this one. I think part of the problem is that I'll work on it a little bit on the train, then I'll get to my stop and then I'll forget what I was working on when I stopped, so when I get back to it, I end up working on another section, meanwhile the previous section might still be messed up in some foreign browser from the 1990s *cough* IE 6 *cough*.

So, I should probably get to work on that... After I shower. I got about 8 hours of sleep last night, which is like a goddamn world record for this past month. Stupid life and people messing it up.

One other thing, I'm dropping off the Ultra Camry at the shop before I go to work (Waking up extra early?! Nooooo...), and my uncle will drop me off at the train station and then pick me up on the way back home (if it's even ready). So... to potential persons that I said next Friday might work, that is now a lie because I need to be back at a reasonable time that works for my uncle.

Which also messes up other potential plans (one that I am actually looking forward to), my good friend Daniel Klag is performing in NYC (at an art exhibit no less!) and I totally want to go. But I probably couldn't make it there in time because he's on at 6. I'd be lucky to get into NJ by 6, let alone NY. I haven't seen him perform since... well, high school, but that was a long time ago and a very different band.

Why is this whole house cold!? Man I need some fucking breakfast other than coffee.

** Almost forgot, last month I bought a monthly pass for NJ Transit between New Brunswick and Trenton. A hefty sum of $178, but it would save me money in the long run (22 weekdays in March, daily round trip would cost me $236.50. Savings: $58.50, Which could buy me my own copy of Zelda, since I think it's too late to return the crap titles I had to buy with the forced 2-game Wii bundle at f.y.e.).

So, Thusday was the first of the month and I finally got to rock out my new monthly pass. It's all shiny and shit, similar to this, and not as boring as their normal tickets, this. I put it out for the conductor to see in the morning, he put one of these up like usual. Same deal on my return trip.

Enter Friday, the second day of the month. I was in a better than usual mood for some reason. It seemed like I was going to miss the 7:26, so I drove slow, because there was no rush for me to get the 7:42. Parked the Ultra Camry, stopped at Drunkin Donuts, and then went up to the platform, where the 7:26 just arrived (10 minutes late! Go NJ Transit.)."Sweet deal!" I thought. On the train, I put my pass up like usual, started eating my muffin, and started working on the MBP.

Conductor comes by, says good morning like usual because he's polite unlike most train persons, and I make a noise that was supposed to be "Good morning" but with muffin in the way. He then takes my monthly pass and moves on. I'm at the end of the car, while I'm half choking on my muffin and struggling to get the laptop off of me without dropping, he's in the next car with my monthly pass.

I finally catch up to him, "Excuse me, I think you took my monthly pass."
"No, I didn't."
"Wha? I just--"

He takes out a small handful of collected tickets and very quickly shuffles through them.
"See? Not here," and now with attitude, "Nice try, boss."

Now I'm pissed yet highly confused. Before I rip this old man's heart so that the blood would drop down to my children for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and only the ribs will be broken (Most bizarre Anchorman reference ever), I accept the fact that maybe I'm the confused one and perhaps, maybe, it fell on the ground.

I run back to my train car and seat (thank god my laptop was still there). There's nothing on the floor. In the seats in front of me, behind me. Nothing. Fuck. Ing. Hell.

The entire morning I was pissed. So I've been meaning to call customer service for several days now... I should still do that. Today.

I now no longer take the 7:26 train or I will be perpetually angry (well, angrier than normal) seeing this asshole every morning. Which is okay for work because I typically have nothing to do for about an hour.

that's the problem with public transportation... it sucks.
