Once again, sitting around at work. Very bored. I came in after receiving no new comments or revisions all weekend (I mentioned that if they were easy changes I do them over the weekend) to, surprise, still no new revisions. I ended up getting a tour of the main building with my old producer (from the Algebra show). There was a motion control camera room, which is still there, but now it's gracefully adorned by a sheet of paper with a tombstone: RIP 198x-2007 (1980-something, I don't remember). Apparently it finally bit the dust last week. Sad, but it seems it was rarely used anyway. The camera that is, the room is being using by an audio guy, with about 6 square feet of space, the rest of the room is enveloped by the MCC.

On the end of the tour I ran into the art director, she said she just emailed me the comments. We chatted briefly, I subtlety alluded to having some free time since this is the only project I'm on right now. She mentioned she might have more, thank god.

That was around 10 something (she sent the email at 9:30). I emailed her back around 10:20 asking a question, and waited. And waited. Eventually I just called her, someone wasn't checking her mail. But my question required the opinion of the client, so we wait. It's about 1:37 now... still waiting. It's a question: should the clock's hands continue to animate after the little guy goes to sleep? They specifically requested, in the last round of revisions, that they should, however, we assessed that it would be inconsistent with a past project. This company seems to care more about consistency than the previous job. But, if they do want to break consistency, we'll have to charge them more because I'll need to recreate the clock a little bit (we've been working with pre-made graphics their graphics team (one person, I hear) made and submitted to us. Unless they can find the original PSD and email it right away.

So I've been waiting for some time now. My project file was last saved at 11:50. About two hours ago. Sigh.

I'm running out of Internet. I should've gone to lunch.

Cool things I found on the Internets:

  • Adobe will announce the release date of CS3 on March 27th. I cannot wait. I hope they announce the date for After Effects 8 as well, then I can stop tainting my Macbook Pro by running Windows (excluding web site testing).

  • I looked over a few of the most popular methods to help find a stolen Mac laptop using the built-in iSight camera. One of the cooler ones will check a webserver script to see if you've reported it stolen. If not, the script stops and runs again after a set length of time. If it is stolen, it'll switch into reporting mode where it starts sending tons of network information (that you could give to the police to find out what ISP it's using and who is using it) and screenshots. But, with a little additional easy scripting, you could even take pictures with the built-in iSight and see the face that you want to direct your hatred towards. If I was unfortunate enough to have that happen, I would totally post their pictures on my blog... along with some commentary and some... silliness. Oh man, I just thought of this, what if the camera got pics of them jerking off to porn? If/when I got the 'Book back, it would be tainted worse than by running Windows.

Ah, got comments back, however, the one additional piece of footage I need is archived, so it'll take till tomorrow to get it back. In the meantime, she's setting up my next project for some Anime network or channel or something. That ought to be cool.

She always replies when I posting a blog. Next time I should start blogging sooner.

Well, looks like it's lunch time for me.
