Today is sit on my ass while... my laundry!
Okay, I'm back. What I meant to say before I had my revelation is: today is sit on my ass day, but really I'm working on my ass. Wait. That sounds wrong. I'm working... while sitting. Yes. Right.
Working... on my new MacBook Pro. Which is fanfuckingtastic, I might add. I feel sorry for my G5. All of my hard drives are shared on the network, as is my iTunes library, and with Apple Remote Desktop I can control the screen as well. So... I have no need to be there. I go down there to sleep and change, and that's about it now.
I still need to reconfigure Mark's network so I can get the webserver (the G5) up again. And hopefully, I'm not sure if this is possible, be able to use Remote Desktop over the Internet as well (and if it doesn't, I'll just fall back on standard VNC).
Aside from that, work is... iffy right now. Friday while working late (we're still not done?! WHY?!) Glen gave me some super secret bad news. Let's just say I might be looking for a new job soon. Though I should have been on the lookout for another job the entire time... I should be upset about this (you know, along with everything else in my life) but now that I'm commuting... a lot... I should be looking for something closer and pays more; none of this freelance crap, I need benefits and PTO. Since Central NJ is not a popular place for film and video production companies, I'm not expecting anything in my backyard, NYC, on the other hand, isn't too far and most certainly is a popular place for production companies. Also I would only need to take one train, so no more sitting around at Trenton station twiddling my thumbs waiting for my next connection.
I should probably call my career advisor from school and let her know that I'm on the lookout again, so she should forward me all of her motion and broadcast graphics leads. I should call today and leave a message or email her, but for some reason I'd rather talk on the phone. Though I'll be at work when she's at work... and looking for a new place to work while at work seems like a bad idea. I'll email her tonight.
Yesterday Mark, Jermaine, and I went to a couple bars in New Brunswick and played some darts. I suck so bad at cricket. In my drunkenness I stated we should hit up the trucks. Jermaine agreed, and I guess Mark was just outnumbered. Except I had to pee really bad the whole time so I wasn't able to enjoy my fat moon as much. On the way home Mark said he couldn't make it home either, so he pulled over behind the Sears and I suppose there is now some yellow ice next to their dumpsters. Then I was able to eat the last few bites of my fat moon without my bladder pressing up against my stomach.
Today is also hangover day. I haven't had a hangover in many years. Usually I drink a couple glasses of water before going to bed, which I guess I was just too drunk to remember to do last night. I don't remember when I went to bed, but I woke up at nine feeling less than enthusiastic about being conscious. Though I did get to enjoy one of the pleasantries of a laptop: working on shit without even getting out from under the covers. That didn't last long though because I needed to pee and to get something to drink. Then back under the covers for more web designin'.
Pizza is on its way. Hopefully soon. Sooner. C'mon pizza dude, where are you?
