I really got the new motorcycle bug. I have been bike shopping for about 3 years. I have always leaned towards the Kawasaki ZX10 But this year the Honda VFR 800 has been in for front of my bike shopping. Mainly due to my age and what I plan on using the bike for......everyday and traveling. In Minnesota we do have a short season...April to November. But you could ride just about everyday....just bring a rain jacket with. Then there is the single most important purchase with your new bike a nice helmet. Been leaning towards a Shoei X-11 for the light weight, and venting. Bobs Cycle Supply in Roseville has them for $450...still a lot of $$$. I do like Arai Helmets...the RX-7.
the smart choice would be a new truck...since my Toyota truck has 190,000 miles and is starting to rust.
