On Monday, I went outside and it was fall. Over the weekend, it had still felt like summer, but now a few days later, the leaves are changing and I need to wear my fleece nightgown to bed.
I started Christmas preparations already, shopping and a few crafts. Last year I started way too late, but this year I'm making up for it by starting sickeningly early
When you're out of high school, it's okay to fraternize with teachers, right? My current instructor is ten shades of cool,
she's my husband's age and we share alot of the same interests, including the same sense of humor. She might be coming to see Southern Culture On The Skids with us the night before Halloween. My other friends think it's weird. *Shrugs* I always meet people in strange places though.
My shoulders ache from lugging around ICD-9 books. I cannot wait for this coding project to be done. Would you believe I haven't folded laundry yet? I have a mountain of clothes to put away, the pile is almost as big as me.
We watched some of the debate tonight. What a study in mediocrity this year's candidates are. On one hand, the current president has done a whole lot of nothing good. And then there's Kerry and his mystery plan-- he keeps telling us he'll change things, but he doesn't seem to know how he's going to do it. His only platform seems to be that he isn't Bush. So as you can see, I'm undecided.
--Sidenote-- I know the SG community is predominately liberal, and that's cool. But please be respectful if you want to disagree (or even agree) with me. It seems as though every time I post something politically-related in my journal, someone comes along acting like a supercilious bastard-- "oh you dimwitted conservatives can't pay attention to fact, yap yap". Exchanging ideas is rad, forcing your perceptions on others... not so much.
On an unrelated topic, look at this delightful if slightly bizarre public service announcement that my friend Mel made. I
it.
That's her with the gorgeous green eyes, and her boyfriend who looks so much like my friend Mike that it's
actually a bit disconcerting.
I have been bad about eating this week-- I'm having my period, so it's all like "oh, here's some greasy high-calorie food with zero nutritional value" *scarf* My one redemption is the fact that I have also been eating lots of fresh fruit.
Oh, and look at something else Mel made. I am the fairy queen, like in "Stairway To Heaven".
Wait, that's the May Queen. Either way, look, I have a neat-o tiara and my lipstick is purple and you know you're totally jealous....
