So, I'm back. It was nice, but shorter than I expected, and a bit strange. Seeing Devany and being able to talk to her was so great, and Ed and I were able to go on a drive through the country and have a talk, which we really needed. Emily loved Devany's cat, or, as she called him, "dog-baby". We left at 1 a.m. Sunday morning instead of 11, because we had a very crabby, tired, angr baby who would not go to sleep no matter what. So a 300 mile drive in under 4 hours (averaging 86 miles an hour) took care of that. I feel bad, buit hopefully she understands.
It's so beautiful out there. It makes me happy and sad and peaceful all at once. Words can't express what I think, how utterly gorgeous it is. I only wish we could have made the return trip in the light, so I could see more.
Eight now, it's thundering, which it hasn't done in forever. I just want to hang out today in my pajamas, only go out if I feel like it. LAst week I was in some cleaning frenzy, and now that I'm home in a mostly-clean apartment, I want to chill out and just enjoy being home with my little one, who apparently thinks eating miny bagels is a hilarious undertaking.
