Weird thing was i had just checked chain tension about 150 mi. before that during the obligatory once over of the bike when stopping for a gas/smoke/piss break...was the requisite 25mm of slack. Ah well, I walked away from that one,so 's I guess I can't complain about a shattered mudguard, a dented swingarm, a night in the Day's Inn...my bud is lucky he didn't get fah-wacked with the offending chain when it spit off the back...and I'm lucky I didn't go ass-over-kneecaps at 90mph, and that the bitter end of the chain didn't take a destructive chunk out of my cases (whew!)
i ended up putting a masterlink on the old chain(after walking 1/2 mile to go get it out of the middle of I-64), sfety wired the shit out of the clip and headed on my way.

I've been super fuckin' extra busy. My crappy van has been fucking with me. I've been trying to make up for the school I missed while out on the ship. I've been torturing otters. Tomorrow, I'm going out on a ship with some crazy people that are trying to use side-scan radar to estimate the biomass of market squid in the bay. Yay squid!!!
