I'm thinking of going motorcycle racing. (http://www.supertt.com)
Pro: Racing is fun, or at least it was when I did it eight or nine years ago (that was road racing though). Racing provides a somewhat controlled environment in which to ride like a total nut. There are no cars on the track, everybody is going in more or less the same direction and there are ambulances standing by. I noticed that when I raced before, I was more mellow when riding on the street because my hooligan urges were satisfied on the track.
Con: Racing costs money. Sure, my XR400 is pretty much ready to race as is, but there's still entry fees and that sort of thing and my leathers will probably get quite dirty or, possibly, get scuffed up... or, god forbid, cut off of me by paramedics. The biggest thing keeping me from racing is fear. I've been in the hospital enough, thank you very much, and I'm not excited about the possibility of death or dismemberment... Then again, I risk that by riding on the road too.
I don't know, I'm still thinking about it.
