Whooo hooo! I'm going out on a research vessel tomorrow... or at least I think I am. There's a bit of confusion. Anyway, it also looks like I'll be going out on another research vessel for a couple of weeks in April.

Should I shave or should I grow? If I shave, there will be stubble. If I grow there will be... uh, hair.

Part of me wants to have shaggy ramones style hair. The other part of me doesn't really give a shit and just wants to not have any scruff to deal with.

If Gene the Barber is too old to have hair himself, still does the back of yer neck with hot shaving cream & a straight razor, and hasn't raised his prices (or learned a new style) since 1963, I say go W/Pigtails' plan.

I did my first shift as an otter rehab volunteer today. Man, those things sure do squeal when you scoop them out of their tank to move them.

I spent most of my break in the aquarium staring at the cuttle fish. Those things are so damn cool. I heart cuttle fish.

If you live in Phoenix or Scottsdale, I'm very sorry for you. That place is a sprawling wastland of strip malls, circle k's, and gated communities. I don't actually have any photos of me underwater but all divers look pretty much the same underwater, so just pretend I'm that guy on the left. I'm gonna be inspecting moorings and cleaning boat bottoms again tomorrow morning.

ah yes, the ferd tank switch. I find it helpful to label the 2 gas filler flaps with a witty bon mot in indelible marker, such as "yes" and "no". This encourages filling the correct, working tank.

E150 = half ton, usually 5 bolt rims
E250 = 3/4 ton, usually 6 bolt rims
E350 = 1 ton, usually 8 bolt rims
E250s sometimes have 8 bolt rims too. Look for the GVRW tag on the driver's side doorjamb, if you can still read it. The combined GVRW should exeed 8,000 lb for a E350.
