This blog has been a long time coming, sorry CreamyGoodness, I am slow and crap. We were in The Lamb a fair few months ago and we promised we would write blogs about our favourite music. I had no idea how difficult it would be to cut it down but here it is!

Squees Audio Goodness!

Download the album below!

Squee's Audio Goodness Download

1) Escape the Fate: Situations

This band cater to my strange love of new skool eighties style pop metalyes, wet perms included. Imagine Motley Crue, Slash and Jeffree Star managed to have a great a lovechild band and youre pretty much there! Yes, its cheesy but awesome!

2) Dramarama : Anything

I first heard this track on a bmx video (yes, this will be a reoccurring theme!), I think it was the first Demolition video and I have loved it ever since. Actually that entire video had an immense soundtrack and is one of my favourite bmx vids of all time.

3) As I Lay Dying : Nothing Left

This track is my perfect temper tantrum, driving like a bitch, fuck the world, what the hell are you looking at song. I first heard it on a mix cd that was playing when I was helping my friends Jennie and Rich decorate before they moved in together last year and I still love it. It calms me down when I am stressed and winds me up when I need to get moving, perfect!

4) The Coasters : Down In Mexico

I love soundtracks. A good soundtrack can make or break a film for me completely and the soundtrack to Death Proof was what kept me watching it through a pretty slow first half (although keep watching cause the end is brilliant!). This was used in the lap dance scene and it has got a perfect, sexy, old school style that is so unusual it will stick in your head for ages.

5) NOFX : I Want You To Want Me

I also have a love for punked up covers and NOFX is perfect for them. I love their covers of Build Me Up Buttercup, Stand Be Me and loads of others but this is my total fave. I think most girls I know love this song in one version or another but this is the one for me. It sums up perfectly that yearning inside you get when all you desire is the one you want, to want you back just as much.

6) Lucero : Tears Dont Matter Much

Lucero are not my kind of band. Its a heard genre to describe though but some people call it alternative country/light rockreally not my thing. Yet Lucero are my favourite band of all time. Which is why Ive had to include them more than once on my album, or I would have had a nervous breakdown trying to choose one single track and never completed this blog! Not many people have heard of them but they are HUGE in the BMX scene and thats where my love of them has come from. Even thought the title of this song comes across as sad but I have always seen it as the opposite. I even have it tattooed across my feet, to remind myself that tears dont matter much. We fall, we cry, we get up stronger.

7) Sounds : Living In America

I know nothing about this band or the song itself. I looked into their other music and didnt like any of it, yet this is a love of mine. Found on another BMX video soundtrack (Demolition again I think!)

8) The Game ft Travis Barker : The Dope Boyz

Cmon we all like a little bit of dirty gangsta rapweve all replaced an s with a z at some point and if you havent, youre a greater person than myself! Plus its Travis Barker on drums, the god of the skins! No deep and meaningful, just crank up the bass and get your lean on! Ha ha

9) Say Anything :Alive With the Glory of Love

I discovered this song on a season finale of Scrubs. I love how they use music in that show and the first two lines of this song grab you and dont let you go. When I watch you, wanna do you, right where youre standing, and so it carries on. Just a absolutely great start to an epic track.

10) Blink 182 : I Miss You

I dont care what anyone says about Blink 182, call them pop, emo or teeny bop band, I dont care cause I think theyve mad some truly immense music that I think will continue to be loved far into the future. I cannot wait to hear their new stuff! Ive also loved bands that have come from them. It was hard not to include a Transplants track in this list too. This is probably one of their more grown up, yet understated tracks. Not everyones favourite but I find it beautifully haunting.

11) Black Flag : Too Drunk To Fuck

I must admit I never knew much about Henry Rollins or Black Flag until a couple of years ago when I saw him talk at Reading Festival. He had me mesmerised. Hes smart, funny, witty and leaves you thinking. Since then I have fallen in love with many bands that basically created the hardcore scene. This track just sums it up for me.

12) Joan Jett : Bad Reputation

I have no idea how I know this song. Sometimes I feel like I was born with the recognition of certain songs. Certain songs from the Doors, AC/DC and others just seem to have always been in my head. This is one of those tracks. None of my family listened to this kind of music so I wasnt brought up on it. But here it is, an original girl power track that I have no idea how I know but have loved for as long as I can remember.

13) The Foo Fighters : Walking After You

There are not many mellow songs I like. I find huge amounts of slow songs depressing and generic. I believe anyone can write lyrics to a slow-ish love song but it takes me aback when I find one completely absorbing. I first heard this on some b-Side to the X-Files movie when I was about 14 and I still think its one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.

14) H20 : Like a Prayer

Yes, another punked up cover. What do you get when you cross 80s Mdonna with H20? Pure fucking genius! I saw these guys a few months back with Vortext and Mark_plus_Beer but hadnt heard any of their music and stupidly only got around to investigating them after I had seen them live (yeah, clever I know!).

15) The Vapours : Turning Japanese

An oldie but a goodie. The best song I have ever heard about a guy jacking off over pictures of a girl in a prison cell!

16) Lucero : Bike Riders

Yes, more LuceroI did warn you! If you hated it the first time, listen again, they grown on you. I had to buy tickets to an entire three day music event in brighton to see these guys live, then got pulled over by the police for speeding on the way there and only saw them play three songs but I still can say that hearing this song live in the corner of a pub, on my own, was one of the best moments of my life.

17) My Chemical Romance : Im Not Okay

I am a secret My Chem fan, I am sorry, I cannot seem to help it, I have no control over it! I still think their steampunk styling throughout the Black Parade was awesome. Obviously this is a lot earlier but the lyrics have always hit a nerve with me and I remember at one point in my life (when this was first released) when I was very ill and no one knew what was wrong with me and this song left me balling like a baby. Since then there has been plenty of occasions I have driven nowhere in particular and screamed my guts out to this song and it has always made me feel better. I think all of us have felt like weve had to tell me we are fine when all we have really wanted to do is completely break down, I guess this song has always worded it perfectly for me.

18) Cypress Hill ft Tego Calder : Latin Thugs

Another strange musical love of mine is latino style salsa-ish music (sorry I dont even know the real genre name). You know they music that they use in Dexter whenever he is on the beach and not killing people?...well that kind music. Here, Cypress Hill gangsta it up and I love it. To me Cypress Hill are timeless, Hits From the Bong, Illusions, Mary Jane and How I Could Just Kill a Man are all awesome tracks but this is the one I always seem to come back to. Even though I dont really understand a world of it!

19) Sick of it All : Take the Night Off

This is another stress reliever for me. Turn it up load as you can possibly take it and just enjoy.

20) City and Colour : Coming Home

As I stated earlier, I am not a big fan of chill out music but when I first heard this track about six months ago, my ears could not have pricked up more. AlexisOnFire is a band that I was aware of but had kind of passed me by but this guys voice is truly hypnotic in this style. I do a lot of late night driving and its perfect for that. This song also reminds me of my favourite place in the world, so I cant help but love it.

21) Zombina and the Skeletons : Nobody Likes You When You Are Dead

These guys were a total random find for me. Back in the day when MySpace was new and band requests were unusual and I actually bothered looking at the pages that requested me, they popped up. This song must be a good 5-6 years old but is perfect psychobilly if you ask me!

22) The Distillers : City of Angels

I think I first saw this on Scuzz tv when it first started and I thought she was beautiful, the song was amazing and the video was awesome. I loved everything about it and have loved it ever since!

23) Lucero : Chain Link Fence

Last one, I promise!

24) No Doubt : Im Just A Girl

I think almost every girl that grew up around the same era as me and has ended up being chucked into the alternative or even worse rock chick bracket has had a little thing for Gwen Stefani. This was my favourite No Doubt track, probably because it struck a cord with me as at that time I only really hung out with boys and was into a very male dominated sport, so really was just the girl.

25) Jay Z : Venus vs Mars

I just really like it

26) BlessTheFall : Rise Up

I really cant actually recollect how I first heard this band! They have released a couple of albums and this is a bit of a rougher one from their first album but I adore it. They also do an acoustic version thats beautiful. I know this band is very religious based but thats about all I know. I am not one for religion myself but each to their own and you can hear how they influences the lyrics but not in a way thats overbearing.

27) HorrorPops : Baby Lou Tattoo

This song makes me want ink soooo badly but its an absolute tune! I love the HorrorPops and have done for a few years now but this will always be my favourite track. I would love to see them live as I think theyd be amazing but dont know if they have ever made it over here. Hopefully one day!

Hmm, so hopefully that wont have ruined your day and may have introduced you to at least one new song you like!

Other stuff beingI think this cold bug is trying to kill me, I feel like my throat it swelling at such a rate that it should surely split open soon. I hate colds, due to the way I am, I always take them a bit hard and end up being knocked flat for a couple of days, boring! Especially when I had other plans.

Later this weeknew set in member review on 17th December 6am uk time and 10pm on the 16th in US time. Heres a lil sneaky peak!

Shot by the lovely Veloriaa at The Fighting Cocks in Kingston, with thanks to Josh and Jacobs
