The other day in the pub, my friends and I were discussing 'huge events' and I don't mean parties of gigs. I mean inventions or actions that changed the world forever. I ended up kind of hoping I live to see a completely new invention that changes our way of lives forever, like cameras, tv, personal computers, the telephone, cars or central heating. I could only think of improvements I've lived through, like mobile phones, from walkmans to mp3, intranets to internet. Don't get me wrong, all of these are awesome, it would just be cool to see something 100% new that completely shocks and amazes me. All the world changing events seemed to be negative, wars, 9/11...until today. And I found myself wishing I was here...

To see this man become the 44th president of the USA

I'm not too sure he'll be able to make all the huge changes he wants but it would be nice if he could improve the economy a bit and if he could avoid starting wars all over the place, that would be an improvement too! It must have been an amazing atmosphere to be there and I can only see Obama being a huge improvement.
Ok, so enough of politics. Last week I went for good shop in London and spent waaay to much money. Bad time. Primark in Oxford Street...even worse times! That place is so packed full of grumpy looking people, shoving and whacking you with their bags, not fun shopping. I took refuge in Worlds End in Camden, much better! And on the sunday I stayed in with my mate Sue and watched the first half of the first series of Dexter on DVD. PLEASE DON'T TELL ME ANY SPOILERS! It's awesome and can't wait to see the rest, that was a good christmas pressie I got her
. And spent last night in the middle of Guildford on the drink with my class mates. I've gotta be a good girl until the end of the month now, I;ve got two HUGE assignment due in the next couple of weeks. My literature review for my dissertation and my second CPD assignment.
.
Apart from that, this week I have been mostly eating vegetable pasta bakes, listening to Sixar Lewis and Lucero, mostly strangely crushing on Justin Lee Collins and mostly wearing hats? How about you?
