So the other day, I solved two mysteries at once! I discovered how my roommate has been gaining all his weight, and I also figured out where all the damn cheese keeps going in my apartment.

These two issues, of course, are interrelated. ;] The thing I wasnt' expecting to find was how this was happening. So the other night I was doing some dishes and I found a glass with cheese residue inside of it... it turns out that he was pouring the cheese into the glasses and "drinking" it!

So yeah, we're buying separate groceries now, with the exception of condiments and minor crap like that. I normally don't mind stuff like this, but it kind of bugs me when I'd go out and buy food and then discover that enormous portions of it would be gone before I'd ever touch it. -sigh-

Yesterday I finally fixed all the annoying things about my work computer, and got the soundcard and dual monitor support working. I really wish the office had a global mp3 server... it'd really save a lot of bandwidth and it'd be fun to explore other people's taste in music. Hrms..... that might be a good idea. =/ Until then, I'm stuck listening to internet radio, which always seems to go between rockin' beats and godawful ruckus. This seems especially true for most of the techno stations I listen to, which always seem to gravitate towards playing "bitch beats", as a good DJ friend of mine called them (and never have I heard a more appropriate term as well wink ).

Last night I finally went to the indy zen center for an open house and a practice session. I originally didn't know that they were going to have a session afterwards, but I stuck around for it and it was really interesting. We chanted for about 30 minutes, mostly in languages that I'd never even heard of. At first, the chanting thing is really damn weird. From an outsider's perspective, it looks like a dozen or so white, ex-catholics getting together and trying to summon some sort of beast. ;/ However, after making it through about ten pages of "hyuk-yan-san-son, pok-yish-tan, ryu-ha-blah-blah-blah-blah", it kind of "clicked" and seemed a lot less foolish. After that, we sat for an hour, which was a lot easier than I was anticipating.

The incredibly ironic thing about the zen centeris that it seems to contain some of the most attractive women I've met in this city... and, of course, it's also the one place where I must shed my ego when I would normally need it the most. wink And now that I think about it, that's probably for the best....
