Ok, I'm on the slowest computer known to man right now, so typing this is reallllly testing my patience this morning. =/ Anyways, this weekend was like one really long concert... it fucking rocked. On saturday, went out to indy to fusion, which was really good in a bittersweet type of way.

The thing about Indiana that I hate the most is that even when tiny glimpses of a scene start to emerge, they are quickly extinguished by the apathy of the people that live here. Fusion was a damn cool club; it was really trendy and cool, the music was really good (they played progressive house this weekend; dave ralph is spinning there next satudray), and the cover was only 2$. In spite of this, the dance floor was practically empty, and only a few people were actually dancing while everyone else stood to the side... kinda like a middle school dance. If this had been in nyc or chicago, there'd have been a line around the block to get in. -sigh-

So yeah, last night went out to indy to see dillenger escape plan and the locust. Dillenger was ok, but they didn't do the whole firebreathing thing, which is something that I guess we can blame that horrible hair metal band "great white" for. Another thing to thank them for is the fact that they are no longer allowed to book venues in indy to full capacity.... at least at this show, there -was- a line around the block to get in, but they shut the doors early and made a bunch of people go home. Meanwhile, the actual floor was totally empty... the emerson staff could have easily let in another 100 people to make it "comfortably crowded". I bet dillenger hasn't played to an audience this sparce since competing in a "battle of the bands" event. ;]

Also got stalked a bit this weekend, which is always fun. There's this girl I met in chicago once that randomly drives around to different friends' houses (much longer story here, but meh). Anyawys, she was in town this weekend and called me up out of the blue... I was gonna get coffee with her or whatever, but I was halfway on the road to fusion when she was finally ready to go out. Then, when I got to the actual club, a certain anonymous dj from indy flirted with my friend and I the whole night. It was kind of weird, though not so much because he was gay and we weren't, but moreso because we weren't really in the market (so-to-speak) and he was out shopping. =)

Anyways, next weekend is punk rock mike night (courtesy of the sg member by the same name), which I'll definitely try to go to if I can convince some other people to drive out there with me. Anyone game?

Oh yeah, and in reference to the story in my previous entry, we amazingly got a 100 on the presentation. My advisor emailed us his grade sheet with the following comments:

Feedback: Very nice presentation. Remember to tuck in your shirts. The demo was a little too fast. You should probably have left out some of the screens.

ahahaha =D

Call in? No.. was sleeping... cellphone was off, alarm was set for PM instead of AM.. woke up at 1 to 6 voicemails saying "uh.. where are you guys?!?" with the final one saying "Um.. we're sending *coworker* over to check and see if you guys are okay..." Luckily, that message came in like 5 minutes before I got it, so we called the coworker, explained that we were fine (but stupid and apparently overtired) and that we were on our way in.

Heh.
