Long fucking day... I had to give a formal presentation with my senior project group for this class I'm in.... it was a total fucking trainwreck. =) We basically created this web-based management system for a local company in town. Anyways, when we got to my part of the demo, we (my partner and I; our team has 6 people total) were supposed to show the "contacts" part of the project, which is basically just the company's addressbook.
My fucking partner, who was debugging the database last night, didn't think to clear out the test data that we'd entered in there the night before. So right up on the overhead projector, in a room full of people, the following contact is displayed on the screen:

First Name: Ryan
Last Name: Smith
Comments: I like boys

Where "Ryan" is the name of our team leader. Needless to say, things just went downhill from there. =/
[Edit] My project team leader just called me to inform me that in our audience today, there were parents and prospective students present. Whooo! Now the prof is out to get us... well, specifically our team leader. Ugggh.

At least I chased that down with nearly 2 hours of band practice. We're really making progress... our singer finally learned how to just let himself go and scream. He kind of sounds like "corpsegrinder" of cannibal corpse, except about an octave higher. It's funny how you can take a song like "right here waiting" by Richard Marx and totally destroy it with something as minor as this. For instance, the chorus of this fine tune is (as you all know):

Wherever you go,
Whatever you do,
I will be right here, waiting for you.
Whatever it takes,
Or how my heart breaks,
I will be right here, waiting for you.

When sung by the original author, it is a cheesy and drippy love song. When it is being bellowed with a low scream, it sounds like a stalker's anthem. I greatly enjoyed this. =)

But enough about the stupid fucking band. It's funny how bad we are, and yet it has provided us with hours of untold entertainment. Anyways, hopefully I'll find something more meaningful to do tonight than ramble in my journal. But Mya is not in chat, so it looks like this might be the high point of the night. -sigh-

Heh, well it could have said something a lot worse.
Did everyone laugh? If noone laughed it would be strangely even funnier.

Oh so that's the song by Richard Marx. I didn't know it by name but I recognized the wretchedness from the lyrics.
The cheesy covers sounds like a good idea. Keep your integrity to really destroy the song and you'll do great.
