Due to recent events, I am having to leave SG for an indeterminate time. Over two years ago, I had to stay in the local hospital for several days due to a bad shoulder injury. Despite signing up for a program that was supposed to pay for most, if not all of it, I was still slapped with a several thousand dollar bill that I do not have the means to pay off. Unfortunately, during the time that has passed between then and now, this bill has gone into collections, and since that point, both of the companies holding onto this bill have demanded an exorbitant amount of money each month from me. An amount that would put me out on the streets. It seems as if now they have opted to sue me, despite my extending a hand to try and bargain with them to get a payment plan that I can afford. I have managed to retain the services of a local lawyer to fight these bastards tooth and nail, and I suspect I have a long road ahead of me before this story concludes, but even that is coming at a price - $2000 total. This doesn't include the endless amount of court fees that are associated with a civil suit in court. I could be looking at up to $3,000 or higher just to fight this case, and as we all know, that's a lot of money many these days have difficulty trying to raise.

It's been a privilege to know those of you who have proven to be decent, civil and intelligent. I don't know when I'll be back, or even if I'll be back. Suffice it to say that I'm having to give up a lot of other things that I technically don't need as a result of the battle ahead. I'm hoping I can come out of this victorious.
