Wrapping: up another week of work. Done and done. That is, if by work you count having my students teach me origami. A very funny class today. I mean, there is some great, complicated origami out there and I dig it; I was taught how to make a paper crane, a paper ninja star, a paper piano and a paper frog. All of which I loved. What was particularly funny however was the astonishment on the faces of my ichinensei boys (11-12yr olds) when I already knew how to make a paper airplane!! Seriously, they were astounded that paper airplanes exist outside Japan. smile

Preparing: for a weekend in Sendai, a few hours north via shinkansen. Sendai is the biggest city in this region of Japan. It'll be nice to see some city-life: buildings open after 5pm, an art gallery and museum (bonus: it's not solely dedicated to 17th century art), and - you know - people under the age of 65 but over the age of 15. Very different to my town, let me tell you!

I went to the Perth Zoo... It was most awesome!

They have been campaigning Project Sun Bear for a while now and the enclosure looks amazing. Should be pretty huge when it opens up.

So you're originally from Aus?
