HAPPY DADDY'S DAY!!

I am not a Daddy ... nor will I ever be one. I am a little lacking in the sperm ~
..... I am sad because I will probably never be a Mommy either. Not as long as I am dating girls anyway. The conversation of children has come up more than once. We talked about finding a worthy donor and raising twin boys ... each named for each of our daddy's. (See, my father had no sons - and he has a III attached to the end of his name. So does my girlfriend's father. We figured we'd pass our family's names on despite our fathers having no sons of their own.) Fun too ... twin boys with different last names. Eh - welcome to the modern day family. But the conversation has also been playful because neither of us will be putting serious thought into children until we're heavy into the serious part of our marriage.

..... But even then - should my girlfriend and I look into adoption, or donation, or even a marvel of science ~ I'm still not going to really be a Daddy. I also will not be a Mommy. Of the two of us, Fae is more likely to play the "Mother" role. Yes, I realize I too would make a wonderful mother .... but raising children has been her dream ~ while supporting a family has been mine.

..... Why is there no day to celebrate the "You've ben a profound influence on my life but you never parented a child" Person? I have an Aunt ~ She is so cool. She is not married, won't likely have kids .... but she played a big part raising her neices and nephews. She also sends the best Christmas Gifts. Why isn't there a day honoring her?

..... Anyway - so I won't ever have a day set aside when people will call me and say "Happy Day" because thats what the holiday calls for. No strange presents just because I ment so much. I'll just have to make my Birthday that much more celebrated.

..... Anyway - enough of the ranting. Have a Happy Father's Day!! If you Appreciate your Daddy ~ make sure he knows it!
