THE BOAT IS BACK... DUH DUH DUH DUH!!!
/wrists
I didn't miss the 60 hour weeks, the midwatches, and being told I'm worthless and a fuck up every day. The day this is all over will be the greatest day ever. The real world will be easy. I may have classes and a job in college, but I get to go home every night.
Right now I regularly wake up in the middle of the night in a state of panic, wondering if I missed my alarm or forgot some important boat knowledge for my qualifications I still have to finish. I've done everything they ask, and I'm ahead on most qualifications, but there is no appeasing most of the people I work with. They say everything is better when you get your submarine warfare qualification finshed, but instead of "Clean berthing, nub!" It'll be "Clean berthing, DeJordy!!" The world dosen't change just because you get a piece of paper signed that says you know something. People are still assholes, and guys are guys. When you're one of the smallest and the youngest, it doesn't really matter if you know everything about your job and your boat, nobody listens to sea pups.

neslo:
I feel your pain, except I'm on shore, so you've got it a bit worse than I have. Hang in there, man. Things have a tendancy to get better.
