Thanks so much for the supportive comments. I'll give you an update and move onto less depressing topics.

A's lung did not collapse. It was yet another nurse communication problem. This really irritates me. My favorite one was when a nurse announced that A was dead. If there ever was ever a crime worthy of a good smack across the jaw, it is probably telling a family that their son is dead when he ain't.

The lung was just filled with guck. He did need full respirator support to breath and he was running a fever of 104.

He's better now. Breathing almost entirely on his own and his temp has dropped a bit. I think it will probably be up and down for the next few weeks but he will probably recover. I'm no doctor or anything but that's what I'm choosing to believe.

I'm coming back today. Time to rejoin normality. I guess one way to do that is too follow monday night tradition. Friends and dollar beers...chicken soup for the soul.

Shit it's hot. Make sure your older relatives are still alive. Buy an air conditioner if you don't have one. Use it if you do.
