Hi, I'm drunk.
This has been the first week after I haven't had class in a while. I'm still getting used to it. I've been trying to wake up early, but there's no reason to really.
My bike is slowly being built up. I keep running into setbacks, BUT the biggest set back has been the fixed cup. That mother is on there tighter than a sumo wrestler wearing a tutu. FR SRSLY. I'll get that fucker.
Who wants to hang out? None of my "friends" apparently. I'm just not going to bother as much.
Originally I was going to go to Popscene by myself to check out Maps And Atlases. They're from my Chicago and I fucking love their tunes. I've missed all their shows in Chicago since I can remember, but I finally got off my ass and made it to a show.
I met up with my friend Ed. He works at a deli/wine/cigar place. He'd been drinking already, but we headed next door to a bar. We had some crazy mixed drinks and a beer for hella cheap. He know the people at the bar and they give eachother discounts all the time.
I was nice and sauced by the time we made it to the show. There were so many good looking ppl at Popscene. just....DAMN...anyways... I couldn't wait to get in. I could hear Maps playing from outside. I missed half of their set, but it's ok. They were great and I met the guitarist, singer, and drummer. Nice chaps. I bought a t-shrit and a copy of their older album. Can't wait for their newest one. I love buying shirts at shows. LOVE IT.
We had just gotten started. We stayed for the next band. I've never heard of Foals before tonight. We had had a beer once we got there and were ready to dance like crazy. I usually don't like watching bands that I've never heard before, but they were fucking great! I was so pumped throughout the entire thing. We moved up pretty close. I couldn't hear shit afterwards.
Get both of those band's albums. DO IT.
We left tired as fuck (still am) and headed for food. NAN N CURRY FTW! Now i need to pass out.
Basically I had way much more fun than I thought I would. Probably because Ed was there. He's nuts. srsly.
Good music. good food. good ppl. good times.
So, if you were a comic book character, what would you be like? I'm talking about original characters. not OMG I'D BE BATMAN stuff. come on. entertain me.
