So it is project time, I am going to setup a kitchen computer for recipes and internet radio.

It is a pretty sweet idea and I happen to have a spare laptop that is way better than that one so I think it should be amazing.

Edit: So I am now on a quest for perfection. I was originally just going to use a lite version of XP and throw some sweet themes on there but I still found that it was sluggish for what I am going for. So I started to look around at some Linux distros that are super lightweight and awesome. So far I have found two that are semi identical with their main purposes being for netbooks.

and

http://www.jolicloud.com/

I am installing easy peasy at the moment because jolicloud is downloading a bit slower for some reason. I am more excited for jolicloud but on the site it says the included drivers are netbook only and might not work with my hardware. At the same time it has a boxee app, wine, and all sorts of other things that would be pretty amazing to have built in. I am pretty sure I can get these installed on easy peasy with limited hassle but the next few days are going to be a ton of testing. The part that really sucks is that this laptop is a little to old to boot from usb sticks so I am stuck with installing from the cd which is taking forever and a day.

I found some recipe apps on bittorrent as well, one of them has like 60000 recipes and the ability to plan meals weekly and print out a shopping list for everything that I am planning on cooking. The other is a more social app that allows you enter and share recipes with the world, it also has a rating system so you can rate other peoples food and tell them it is good or not. It lacks the meal planning and shopping list function which is pretty awesome.

Now I just need to go to home depot and grab some mounting brackets and some screws, get a wireless keyboard and mouse, and I will be good to go. I will post some pictures when I am all done.
