The hubby had bronchitis, then the beginning stages of pneumonia. He's better now, but he was sick for a few weeks. We went to the doctor's office, but the physician's assistant we normally see had the day off and due to hubby's problems breathing we opted to go ahead and see the actual doctor. I will never see him again. After treating my hubby like a total hypochondriac, and generally ignoring most of what he said, the doc gave him something for the fever and told us to get some mucinex. He also could not see why the hubby couldn't just go to work and take it easy. My husband is a cop. Inability to preform to the best of his ability could, in the most literal sense, get him or someone else killed. After a few days of not getting better at all, in fact, getting a good deal worse, we finally went and pretty much begged to see the woman we normally see. She actually listened, both to what we said and what hubby sounded like when he coughed and breathed, gave him some steroids, antibiotics and an inhaler to open up his airways to he could actually breathe, told him to take at least four days off and rest, and, being the miracle worker that she is, hubby was back to normal in just over two days.

The icing on the cake though, after he was feeling better, we decided to go out to dinner. Walking down the street to the restaurant we passed the doctor just hanging out, talking to some friends. What was he talking to them about? He was standing there bitching about having to actually see his patients.

...WTF?
