Thanks for the well wishes on the pepper spray burn! It's healing up nicely though I think it might scar a bit. The tissue there still feels really wierd.
I never managed to get tickets to the live show in Atlanta, which sucks, but I suppose it's my own fault for assuming it wouldn't sell out fast. I'm a bit irked at the Buzz advertising it as thier Halloween party because I have a feeling that's why it sold out so fast and, as a result, why a bunch of the site members couldn't go, but whatcha gonna do?
Instead I'm spending Saturday night dicking around at home, but, on the bright side, I did finish a couple of illustrations that have just been hanging out in a bottom drawer of my drawing table half finished for the last few months. Just felt like finishing them tonight and I'm glad I did. I haven't completed a painting or drawing that wasn't expressly for a school project, specific gallery show or job in I don't know how long.
Oh, in other news, I got a new TV! With Gears of War coming out and a preorder on a Wii, Ithras and I decided that our circa 1988 telly was overdue for replacement. I feel a little ridiculous buying it when our finances are not exactly what I'd like for them to be, but I suppose as long as it's coming out of my normal income, not any of the funds I have set up for other stuff (buying a house, kitties, emergency money, etc.) and we can still pay the bills and buy groceries then it's all good. Also, the foolishness I feel is somewhat diminished by the fact that I've now been reminded that some of those blobs of color on the screen, well, sometimes those are words and you're supposed to be able to read them. I've learned a few things in the last few days. On the loading screens for Oblivion there is actually a map in the background, on the map in Oblivion the areas you haven't visited have a fog over them, and I've learned that the subtitles for a couple of my favorite Almodovar flicks are really poorly translated. I can't complain too much about the old TV though. It was showing it's age, but the thing lasted almost 20 years.
