Ok, here's a more detailed rundown of the weekend.
Friday:
Hung out at my place until LightbulbJack and EvanX showed up, then we went out to a sports bar close to my place. Hmmmmm, I haven't been there on a weekend in a long time.
They made EvanX turn his hat forward and me take my skull cap off. Gotta watch out for those gang symbols here in the booming metroplis that is Battle Creek (pop. 53,540) ever since the turf wars that pitted the Snap, Crackle, & Pop's against the Sugar Bear's back in '92. They had a "DJ" spinning "tunes" in front of the "dance floor". He had a large black cowboy had on and segued from country to soul to hair band with impunity. Tricky
Saturday:
Got up and got things around for the trip. Bekka138 showed up and I made breakfast bagels for everyone. We took off and caught the train from the station in downtown Battle Creek. Affinity was already on the train from Detroit so we hooked up with her and off to Chicago we went.
We got off at Union Station and I gave a bum $1 for directions.
After that we completely ignored his fucked up directions and followed Affinity as she led us to the El station where we then proceeded to amuse the El attendant with our train boarding ineptitude. Oh, and I caught a pigeon.
Checked into the hotel, met up with Ophelia and sunburntkamel and Olsen and LadyK and then walked all over to all sorts of cool stores and shops.
We ended up at Neo, a dance club until about 2:30 in the morning.
Sunday:
Hooked back up with the Chicago crew for lunch, bummed around for a while, went to GayMart and then rushed back to catch the train just in time.
Very cool weekend, everyone had fun and we'll probably organize another trip once the weather gets warmer.
