Alright. Here's the Isle Royale hiking trip report:
I went with three other friends, thought we might have a late start because one of the guys got stuck in Texas after a business trip to Mexico. He called me Friday afternoon at work and I helped him find a flight out. Him and his wife showed up only fifteen minutes late.
It was a thirteen and a half hour drive all the way up to Copper Harbor. We camped overnight at the state park there which was terribly crowded and obnoxious. It was a place to crash for the night though.
We got up early and caught the ferry to the island at 8:00a, it was a four and a half hour trip over. Once there, me and a buddy split off and headed up over the ridge. It was a difficult hike but we made it and were the only ones at the site. As the sun was going down another friend and his girlfriend met us there, which was cool.
We spent most of the week hiking around different trails on the island. The weather was gorgeous and the two times it rained it was at night so that was cool. I saw a ton of different wildlife, six moose (one bull, three cows, and a cow and her calf), several fox, three otters, loons, red headed mergansers, butterflies, dragonflies, tons of squirrels, and the largest leeches I have ever seen. Yuk.
I severely twisted my ankle four days into it. I walked a total of 51.5 miles in a total of 7 days. 24.2 of those were on my fucked up ankle. I toughed it out, although I was gimping around pretty bad the whole time.
It was a kick ass week. I went seven days without a shower. I stunk bad. I have my tent set up in my living room right now to air it out. It sucked to have to go back to work yesterday.
I put some pics in my folder.

Second, thank you for my picture...you're so sweet...
Third, are you asking me to be your bed-buddy? *giggle* Can I bring a friend too? *giggle*
and Fourth, this is AMAZING! I was camping with friends a long long time ago, like 12 years ago (crap...I AM old). I was up early, and sitting by the lake watching this INCREDIBLE color in the sky. I was just mesmerized. From that point on, when anyone ever asked me what my favorite color was I would think back to that moment. It was indescribable...and here you have a picture of it. I'm printing this and keeping it. You ARE the man...thank you.
