Saturday in Chicago was a good time. I didn't get there until about noon and then I spent about an hour and a half driving around the wrong part of town! I was looking for a street and half of it was on the South part of town, while the part I needed to be at was North of Navy Pier. The two roads have the same name but aren't connected in any way.
I did a lot of walking. I had a gay man hitting on me at one of the stores. I bought a pair of pants for the SGProm. I saw a guy with the largest gauge ear piercings I have ever seen. I didn't ask him the diameter, but I bet it was almost three inches. They were fucking huge! I saw a 1500sq ft. apartment for rent, one bedroom, one bath....for $1600/month. Holy shit, that's three times my house payment.
On the way home, I stopped downtown and walked around for a few hours, until about midnight (Chicago time). It was pretty cool. I had my camera and took a bunch of pictures, but hardly any of them were worth keeping. I could have gotten some pretty neat photos if I had brought my tripod. As it was, I couldn't hold it still enough to get most of the shots I wanted. I could have also used a 14mm fixed and a 100-200 zoom for some nice shots. Someday maybe. I got a couple of OK shots, I'll put them in my pictures if you are interested.
I got so fucking lost downtown. I just wandered around for a long time checking things out, taking pictures. It was pretty cold last night, my hands got all numb and when I decided I had had enough I was clueless as to where I had parked my truck! I wandered around for another hour looking for it. I kept getting sidetracked and investigating interesting things.
All in all it was a good time.
