spazzing

so one of the requirements for an upper division art class im in is to make myself a web presence. the professor suggested things like artslant or deviantart and many many others. or we could just have our own website. i would REALLY prefer to have a website but i needs help. what's the best and cheapest place for hosting? can anyone help me? or should i just stick to artslant.com ?

edit: ok, ive signed up for a artist websites which is a part of FineArtAmerica.com. seems pretty awesome and was way cheaper than some of my other options. ill post a link when im done making it awesome
