so i've decided to run with the whole "i want dreads" idea. i'm letting my hair do it's own thang and hopefully lock up. it's been quite a while since i last brushed my hair....i think maybe the last time i tried taming it was for that swanky holiday party. so like 3 or 4 weeks? i've also been phasing out my regular hair washing schedule. i washed my hair today for the first time in what i think has been a week. i bought knotty boy dread bar shampoo last night and was so excited to use it....but waited till this morning. it smells good, light peppermint and tea tree oil scent. it left my hair feeling all clean and dry. i was surprised by how un greasy my hair was when i went to was it. it seemed to be a lot more greasy like two days ago.....i guess my hair is getting the hang of this already
it's starting to dread on its own! yaaaay i have like two that are totally locking up and two others that are on there way. they seem to want to become fatty locks but im hoping to get a variety of sizes.one of the ones that's doing so good, i used the twist and rip method on a little bit the other night and im thinking of going through and doing that to more of my hair. but so far, seems like neglect has been my method...mainly cuz i don't have anyone to come over and help me backcomb or something....well i know of two people who are willing to help but one i hardly know and the other i can't see till school starts (which is real soon OMG) aaaaanyways, i decided to take some pics to document this early stage of messy hair

^ the two good ones

^ the two meh ones

doesn't look so bad right now since i just got out of the shower. i'm already experience a lot of shrinkage

^ all of that is me being a monster......

oh and btw this is what i do with my hair for the public
pretty pretty flower
i can't wait to get some beads and other wacky shit to put in my hair
ok, perhaps that was a little too much documentation, but i seriously have nothing better to do right now.....i have bored out of my mind these days. i've actually started going on walks, been taking rowdie t the park for an hour or two every day. so yea looks like i might actually be getting my new years resolutions through with...two of them at least, lose weight and get dreads.....the third resolution however, i'm kinda failing miserably at :/ *le sigh*
my friends and i are gathering for an illegal hike to two trees tomorrow
should be fun. we should totally have a picnic up there. too bad jesse can't make it...

I have done dreads before, make sure you keep your hair full of vitamins. It took me 8 hours to dread someone but it came out perfect. Problem was that she had thin hair and the dreads eventually ruined her scalp so hair slowly started to fall out from the weight. "Biotin" is good and if you want your dreads to look clean you need to do the back comb. There are also a few good dread forums on the internet, check them out for advice.
