Thanks for the support with the wounded clucks, folks. The things we rationalize in the name of religion, huh? Anyway, outta nearly 300 chickens we've lost only 7 so far and homes are being found for most. Gracias. You are making it difficult for me to be cynical with support like that.

Highlights:



Saw a sweet film last night. HBO hosted an advance screening of
39 Pounds Of Love. The director, Dani Menkin, and subject of the film, Ami Ankilewitz, were there and -- I'm pleased to report -- were both stellar. The film is being distributed independently and will have to rely on word of mouth to get a proper buzz going. See it when the movie hits your town. You'll be glad you did.

Following the screening, I went to a benefit for my favorite grassroots animal group, Compassion Over Killing. Truly, any group with an acronym that is pronounced cawk deserves, ahem, widespread support, don'cha think? I knew you did.

Off at 4 am to go to the City of Angels to begin screening material for the 20th Annual Genesis Awards. I'll be back in NYC less than 24 hours after I leave, er, left.
