Over the past few days I've been pretty obsessed with The Protomen. If you don't know who they are then you'd better sit down because I'm about to blow your mind. The Protomen are a band who made a rock opera...about Mega Man. The album is freaking amazing and it's even cooler if you take the time to look up the lyrics which have some in-between story segments that aren't in the songs, but are included in the liner notes. I was surprised to find that it's actually a pretty compelling story, which you don't really see when you're playing the game and just trying to defeat a robot to get his power so you can use it to defeat the next one. So check out the first link, (which is to their myspace) start at the last song on the playlist and after that one, go to the top and work your way down and you basically get to hear the whole album minus two songs. They also have a flash site, but it's not very easy to navigate. The first album is Act I and they're currently working on Act II; I can't wait to hear it.
