I find it a little hard to even fathom that acceptance has not happened for gay/ bi individuals. I cannot tell you how much i hate hearing someone say the term "that's so gay" its almost disrespectful. I just don't understand why it is not accepted by some, can they not see that the rest of the world cheers happily for equal rights? can they not see that when it really comes down to it, they are of flesh and blood like the rest of us?
I sat in a church i had never been to and listened to the priest say to more then 300 people that being a homosexual was a sin, and all i wanted to do was stand up and yell at everyone for being so close minded and cruel.

The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision.
How many biblical prohibitions are they violating? Well, wives are supposed to be 'submissive' to their husbands (I Peter 3:1). And all women are forbidden to teach men (I Timothy 2:12), wear gold or pearls (I Timothy 2:9) or dress in clothing that 'pertains to a man' (Deuteronomy 22:5). Shellfish and pork are definitely out (Leviticus 11:7, 10) as are usury (Deuteronomy 23:19), shaving (Leviticus 19:27) and clothes of more than one fabric (Leviticus 19:19). And since the Bible rarely recognizes divorce, they're committing adultery, which carries the rather harsh penalty of death by stoning (Deuteronomy 22:22).
So why are they having such a good time?
Probably because they wouldn't think of worrying about rules that seem absurd, anachronistic or - at best - unrealistic. Yet this same modern-day couple could easily be among the millions of Americans who never hesitate to lean on the Bible to justify their own anti-gay attitudes.

i am not super religious but i do believe in god. i believe that if indeed god created us, that we should know that god does not make mistakes. we were all born different bc we all were to learn acceptance. I for one take pride in having close friends and family that are gay. they happen to be the most driven most amazing people i know.
I am excited to walk in the future of same sex marriage, to stand in support and to stand up for those who cannot. No government has the right to tell its citizens when or whom to love. The only queer people are those who don't love anybody.
further more i am excited to be at san fransisco's pride parade this year june 25-26th.
