Good grief! I'm all for summer and have gotten to enjoy the beach more this year than I have for a number of years but this heat is starting to get to me. Supposed to be 100 tomorrow and that's just a bit much. Never thought I would say it's too hot to go to the beach but have a feeling I'll be saying that tomorrow.
Have some cool news to report.... booked a trip to the Dominican Republic this week. Granted the trip is for the beginning of January but I'm pretty excited about it. IndieBuddhist and wsoxfan both know what a huge fan of moe. I am but guess one could say that I'm taking it to the extreme to a certain degree. So last year I saw on the moe. website that they were playing 4 shows down in the DR, but with the earthquake in Hatti they postponed the shows. A few months back I saw that they rescheduled them, the girlie and I started talking about it and next thing you know we're saving up to go and I booked the trip this week. It's a 5 day 4 night package deal, but I was able to add an extra night on the back end. We'll be staying a tthe Paradisus Resort in Punta Cana. Last week I had a nice long conversation with the production company in charge of the trip to get some better details. Talked it over with the girlie this past weekend and booked on Monday. There will only be a max of 300 people at the show, so very intimate. The first night is an acoustic show and then the next three nights will be their regular flare. The gal I talked to said they are also planning a lot of day time activities that members of the band will be participating. So in all likely hood I'll get a chance to meet a few of these guys. But in the mean time I need to start getting geared up for our trip to the Outer Banks in early Sept.

I used to know someone from the D.R. He said that the resorts are fantastic there. He cautioned that tourists not stray out of the area because of the dangers that exist, such as robberies and kidnappings. I'm sure you'll be careful and have a great time.
The heat / humidity is really bad up here too.
