Sunny and warm Saturday morning, drinking a cup of coffee and simply amazed how much traffic there already is. Walking the dog was a bit of a challenge crossing streets. Guess everyone is coming to the beach early to get their spot picked out. I'll have to check the tide chart to see if I'll be laughing at anyone later.... you see, a lot of people want to sit as close as possible to the water. However, if it's low tide when they set up a few hours later the waves are upon them and all their stuff gets wet, or even worse washed away, if they're not paying attention.

Got a text from the girlie at 8 this morning. She had just stopped off at the rest stop on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge - Tunnel. Can't believe she left at 2 in the morning but considering it's the 2nd worst weekend to be driving (behind Thanksgiving) I can understand. If she doesn't get onto the Outer Banks by mid morning she'll get stuck in traffic for hours. She really was laying it on last night trying to get me to come down for just a few days but 18-20 hours in the car (round trip) for a few days at the beach just doesn't make sense.... especially since the beach is just a few blocks from my house. Yeah, it's the Jerz Shore and not the Outer Banks, but we'll be down there here in exactly 10 weeks. Plus, I've got an important project at work that is due on Wednesday so can't be playing hooky at the last minute and leave everyone hanging.
