Tiva dawg is back at the beach!!!!
Picked her up yesterday from my folks. They were nice enough to meet me half way so I didn't have to kill myself driving 10 hours (round trip) to bring her back. Ole gal is 15 years old and going strong. I think a lot of that has to do with her staying with my folks. Her "snowbird" years started 4 years ago with me leaving her with them at Christmas and bringing her back April. Then the next year it was Thanksgiving to May and from there it's pretty much her spending the summers at the beach and the rest of the year down south. Lucky lady!!!!
Hoping to get down to the beach for a while today. The girlie got a sunburn yesterday at her niece's softball game so I'm hoping it's not bothering her today. If it is we probably won't go.
Trying to get some work done this morning but obviously getting a little sidetracked.... got a call Friday afternoon from a buddy of mine who owns and is President of a small business in my industry. Not to get into the guts of what I do and bore the heck outta everyone, but let's just say I've got some special skills that would come in really handy on a project he's working. So after getting the o.k. from my boss I accepted the side work. My first Independent Consulting gig which I'm pretty excited about. Kinda expensive to keep a SME (Subject Matter Expert) on staff when you only need them on occasion. So if I do a good job I have a feeling that this might lead to some other work from time to time. And I'm really happy with what he's paying me. The only thing I'll have to be careful of is the taxes. 1099's don't have any taxes withheld so I'll have to pony that all up when I do my taxes next year.
Well, gonna end this sunny Sunday morning blog, visit a few friends and get back to work. Keep smiling everyone!!!!!

Was supposed to T-storm ALL day, but not a cloud in the sky.
