"To every person who is dealing with the homosexual spirit, that has it, I love you and God loves you but God hates the sin in you and me. Anything that is against the nature of God."
Not my words, this lady's here, apparently she's called Kim and she sings. No idea, never heard of her before.
It just struck me as such an odd thing to say. With so much certainty, God - THE God - hates this thing about you. Okay, do you often speak on behalf of omnipresent beings, Kim?
I'm not what you'd call religious. For the record, I'm not an atheist either and nor do I choose to self identify as agnostic. Not because I'm too cool for labels but just because my attitude to all matters of faith is generally "the fuck should I know?" I mean, anything is possible, right?
People who claim to be witches and do spells or other tangible, literal acts of faith belong - in my mind - with the poor unfortunate souls who believe they can actually, really hear their diety speak to them. Everyone else that just "has faith", though? Your god bless you, that's up to you. (I should probably stop being so harsh on Wiccans, I'm sure they're not all early teens sitting in their bedroom putting angsty spells on the cheerleaders in their school.)
I like the idea of believing (see earlier blog about paranormal experiences) but believing so literally what's written in a collection of ancient books, exclusively penned by humans (mostly wealthy blokes in power)? Bit odd.
Not to mention the geographical spread. You're anyone born outside of - let's use a random stock example - the traditional heartland of the Mormon faith and you're going to hell by default for being raised to believe the wrong thing? Why would any creator set things up so strangely?
And what sort of inept creator creates so much that he or she or it so openly detests? I can't even maintain a blog without routinely wiping out posts I don't like yet an all powerful being decorates it's universe with homosexuals and sodomites just to have something to despise?
Strange if you ask me, Kim.
But mostly it's the preaching so assuredly that this or that is exactly what your God wants that gets to me. I'm pretty sure that God isn't such a delicate little snowflake that they're crying upstairs, needing you to defend them from the big scary gays, Kim.
I'm sure if God was all that affronted, they could do something about it, yknow, all powerful n'all.
Dare I say, Kim, that your faith is a pretty shit shield for your bigotry there, pal, you probably need to catch up with the rest of the world and get over it.
Oh, and you too, Daesh (don't kill me lol.)
