Brugge, Belgium. Heaven on earth for the simple pleasures. I don't do heat and beaches, I want good food, good beer, a relaxing atmosphere and some great history out of a holiday. Brugge has it all in spades. The above photo was our first meal there at a place called Ribs n Beer, this is from a holiday a couple years ago. I'm feeling pretty nostalgic right now.
I've thought about posting some wishful holiday snaps on here from Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, Malta etc but it's actually something a little closer to home I'm pining for.
I love the architecture, beautifully simplistic. There's something magical about canal cities and Brugge would be my pick of the lot (sorry Venice and Amsterdam) every time. I took this (I'm a shit photographer btw) on a slow evening walk around the quieter side of town where I'd love to be right now as I sit at work. That's before popping in here...
By far my favourite bar in the world, so easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. They've more beer than you'd get through in weeks and it's all scummy as. A little cellar bar off one of the main squares with the most relaxing atmosphere.
I'm actually starting to depress myself!
Oh well. Only two more hours of work to go.
What's your happy place?
