Why is it so hard to find a decent alarm clock?

They either look like they were designed by an engineering school reject, have a display so bright you can almost read by it, or have a minimum volume setting that I equate to "fire alarm".

Seriously, how hard can it possibly be?

I use my cell phone, as a bonus it doesn't shut off in power outages. They usually have a snooze option too!

First of all, I have absolutely nothing against the idea of a female president. I do however have a very strong distaste for the oligarchy that this country has become.

Bush Sr. 89-93
Bill Clinton 93 - 01
Bush Jr. (dip shit) 01 - 09
um, Hillary Clinton?

Seriously, isn't this obviously NOT a republic, much less a democracy?

Geeze....

So it's the last day of 2006. For the most part, good riddance.

This year has been filled with some seriously fucked up attempts at relationships, culminating in the latest case-in-point earlier today. For the most part, right girls, really bad timing. I seriously hope next year brings something better.

On the career side of things, this past year mostly really sucked, but that's turned...

A couple non-sequiturs:

Proof is a good movie.

I'd happily buy a plug-in electric car if they were actually available, even half as stylish as they can be, and were somewhat south of that asking price.

Gummy Bears are addictive.

Hrmm, I still like the real commercials better. But the linux stuff was funny. Oh that BSD!

I think some of it though was a rip of (or possibly paying homage to) the Red vs Blue Apple Switch commercial:

Ugh, I feel like I've been running at full tilt for the past two weeks, and now I'm finally slowing down a little and don't know what to do with myself. I actually have a dozen things I want to do, I just can't quite choose between them at the moment, so "nothing" is winning out by default.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

People are greedy and stupid.

(The words and links are also interchangeable.)

This consumer culture, this culture of consumption we live in has really gone off the deep end. The lengths people go to to get the latest gadget, or a really cheap DVD player, are so far beyond reason that it should probably be considered a collective insanity. Certainly mass hysteria. This country...

i worked at walmart for 3 years, and endured the hell that is the biggest shopping day of the year firsthand.

it was horrid. people are so disgustingly selfish- and for what? to give grandma the toaster she wanted? grandma would be happier if you sent her a card once in a while. or called her.

ebay is only one more outlet that showcases our selfishness. it also is a true testament to fools and the sponaneous. 2 grand is a bit much for one of those, is it not?

i'm not a normal girl. i hate shopping, i don't get PMS, and i never want flowers or big rocks.

your journal made me happy. because it echos how i feel about the whole holiday season.

Yay, snow!

OK, so November is turning out better than I thought it would. The first couple days did completely suck, but things are improving. I'm tentatively planning on going to two concerts this week, and should be hitting the powder all weekend. I may also have good news as far as work goes by sometime next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I've...

family, work, non-work, emotions, medical...

...just, FUCK!

I shouted as loud as I possibly could today for the first time in memory--repeatedly. I have a feeling this month is going to seriously suck.

Three of my favorite terms right now: asinine, fraking brilliant, and cluster-fuck. I expect all will get way too much use through internal monologues and select conversations in the coming weeks.

Yeah,...
