I just watched the movie Mirrormask, which inspired the new user pic.

Is it too dark and unfriendly looking? skull
sleepingdeath:
cool! smile
merritt:
It's freaky, yeah. I watched it for the second time last night.

Yup, I'm sick. *snif*

I'm also sick of being sick. mad

The weather today has been every concievable combination of clouds, sun, rain, wind, and hale. That includes windy-rainy-sunny-haling-cloudy, all together. surreal

I'm thinking god has the same cold I do.

My least favorite souvenir from my trip: a persistent sore throat.

I sounded like a horse all day.
merritt:
Those big convention halls, with their massive ceilings and all that ambient noise, whenever you talk to someone it's like you're always shouting without even knowing it.
sorin:
More the sore throat that leads to a stuffy nose and then a full blown cold kind of thing unfortunately.

Well, the National Cable show is all wrapped up now. They literally starting turning the lights off around 4:00 to clear people out. I did my booth duty for a couple hours, then wandered the floor in search of good freebies. Managed to snag a keychain-size universal TV remote (seriously! Airport TVs watch out wink ), chatted with a couple cool people from a little extreme...

OK, so I'm in Atlanta, and this whole National Cable show is nuts. To start with, it's being held in this convention center that's easily 4 city blocks in length, and the show runs the whole length, 4 floors, plus part of the adjacent building. My feet hurt already after only the first day.

Second, all the major networks like Turner, FOX, NBC, etc, have...

Geckogirl could've helped you out with some vegetarian recommendations for Atlanta. Too late now, I guess.

Groovy pic, btw.

I wanna go snowboarding someday. I've skied Crystal Mountain a few times, that's about it for me. East Coast is teh suck for skiing.

I successfully pulled apart my powerbook and put it back together again with a new hard drive. 37 screws the size of a drop of water. No wonder they assemble these things in asia with child labor - you need those tiny fingers!

Reminds me of that movie Crazy People about the insane asylum turned advertising agency.

"Sony - because Caucasians are just too damn...

Took today off work and hit the slopes again. Excellent day for it. Good snow, and some sun breaks. I generally took it easy. Rode my usual freeride board for a couple hours in the morning, then pulled out my freestyle board for the first time this year. Practiced some switch riding, jumps, did flat rails for the first time biggrin, and made a fool...

Oh yeah, and I watched The Unbearable Lightness of Being over the course of a couple of nights. Blockbuster.com doesn't mention that the movie actually spans both disks, so there was a couple day interruption while I waited for the second one. It's a long movie, but worth it. One of the sex scenes had me laughing my ass off smile

I finished my taxes! The refund was effectively spent yesterday on a season pass for next year, and a new hard drive for my powerbook. 40 Gigs seemed large when I bought it, but that didn't stop me from filling it up over the past couple years.

On a related note, I love spring snowboarding. With the sunny skies, mild temperatures, and soft snow, what's...
