The below is an email I sent to Creative through their website. I would encourage anyone who has purchased a Creative product that contains a similar cancer warning in the manual to send them a similar communication.
I just purchased a Creative Zen V Plus, and was shocked to see the warning about cancer from touching the cables because they contain some lead. Why in hell would you continue to ship cables that are carcinogenic when completely safe alternative materials are readily available? I am completely astounded at your lack of regard for your customers health. I do not plan to ever purchase another Creative product unless you provide products that are non-toxic. I intend to advise my friends to do the same. My iPod contains no such warning, because they do not use toxic cables.
